Valladares also devotes a significant portion of her practice to employment matters, representing both public and private employers (and occasionally employees) in litigation before the EEOC, TWC and state and federal courts on a variety of claims such as Title VII, The Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Equal Pay Act. Valladares has represented landowners, business owners and employees with matters before governmental entities, including land use disputes, condemnation, and a public whistleblower claim. Valladares’ governmental background includes assisting municipalities, utility districts, school districts, community college districts and other governmental entities with matters ranging from condemnation litigation, land use regulation (zoning, annexation, ETJ), open government laws, ethics compliance, Board governance, tort litigation and policy review. Valladares is a Shareholder in the firm’s labor and employment and government law sections, with experience representing both public and private clients in litigation and providing general advice and counsel.
